The Editorial Committee of the Journal adopts the recommendations established by the International Committee of Editors of Medical Journals (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)).

3.1 Continuous publication
Starting with No. 2, Vol.110, the Rev Asoc Odontol Argent has adopted the continuous publication model, maintaining the edition of three issues a year: January-April, May-August and September-December. Each article is published once it has been approved and edited without waiting for the number to be completed, which reduces publication times.
This modality speeds up the process of communication and publication of articles with innumerable advantages for users of scientific information, contributing to early reading and citation. In this modality, each article is treated as an independent object and receives a unique identification in the collection of articles. Journal. Your identifier will be formed by the letter e followed by a sequential identification number.
The pagination of the articles changes, the initial page will be 1 and the final number will be the total number of pages.
The publication flow adopted by the Rev Asoc Odontol Argent will be the continuous publication within each issue.

3.2 Articles accepted for publication

La Rev Asoc Odontol Argent only accepts articles that have not been previously published or are under consideration to be part of another journal.
To corroborate originality, the following strategies are adopted: a) the authors are asked to declare that the article has not been previously published or sent to other journals for evaluation; b) Internet programs and tools are used to detect plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplication and fragmentation
(Plagiarism detector,  DupliChecker,  PlagiarismChecker).

Sending the material is considered authorization for its publication. The submission of research manuscripts implies acceptance of participating in the “Annual Prof.a Prize Dr.a Margarita Muruzábal” for the best scientific research article, unless expressly stated otherwise.

3.3 Intellectual property
By sending a manuscript, the authors accept that once the article is accepted for publication, the copyright of reproduction, distribution and public communication of their article is transferred to the editor, and they also accept the terms under the that the Journal is shared publicly. All articles approved for publication will be property of the Argentine Dental Association and express only the opinion of the authors. The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent is an open access publication, shared publicly under the terms of the Licencia Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial 4.0 Internacional which allows sharing, copying, distributing, altering, transforming, generating a derivative work, executing and publicly communicating the work, always and when the corresponding authorship is recognized: a) the authorship and the original source of its publication are cited (journal, URL and/or DOI of the article; b) the same license terms are maintained and they are not used for commercial purposes

3.4 Open access policy
The publication and dissemination of the Rev Assoc Odontol Argent meets the definition of open access by the Directory of Open Access Journals (Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
Free and immediate access to the work on the Internet is permitted, as well as reading, downloading, copying, distributing and printing, searching or linking the full texts of the articles, tracking them for indexing, passing them as data to the software or using them for any other purpose, legal purpose under the terms of the Licencia Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial 4.0 Internacional

3.5 Peer review process
Arbitration is an unpaid altruistic process and represents a personal contribution to the development of science. The evaluation is carried out double-blind by peer experts in each discipline in order to ensure its quality and scientific rigor. In all cases, evaluators external to the publishing entity of this publication are used. The editorial team complies with the obligation to maintain confidentiality and is impartial and objective in managing the selection of reviewers.
Members of the editorial board can submit their own articles to the magazine. In these cases, said members will be excluded from the editorial tasks of that article and another member of the editorial board will be assigned the responsibility of supervising the peer review.

The review process complies with the following stages: a. Editorial evaluation of compliance with publication standards. If a manuscript does not comply with these standards, it will be requested to adapt it before sending it for review. b. Invitation to expert reviewers according to the discipline. c. Sending the manuscript to the reviewers who are given a period of 4 weeks to complete the report. d. The Editorial Committee will reportedly make the decision to either accept the manuscript, request major modifications, request minor modifications, or reject the manuscript. In case of discrepancy, the evaluation of a third person will be requested. If major modifications were indicated, the corrected manuscripts will be resubmitted to the reviewers to determine if they have been satisfactorily applied and. Accepted manuscripts receive a style correction and are edited and diagrammed through a process that requires the participation of the authors in order to avoid possible errors. F. The authors are requested to approve the final version that will be published.

3.6 Repository and pre-prints policy
The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent authorizes the authors to have the accepted version, as well as the finally published version, deposited in a national or international institutional repository (as appropriate), web pages or academic networks without commercial purposes, respecting the integrity and image of the Journal. It is mandatory for the published version to include information on how to cite the document, the URL or DOI assigned to each article, respecting and indicating the terms of the Creative Commons license under which it was published.
Regarding pre-prints the Rev Asoc Odontol Argent authorizes the authors that the manuscripts submitted for publication have been deposited on reliable pre-print servers (national or international as appropriate). This information must be stated in the letter to the editor. The authors may use these until the time of publication.
The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent authorizes authors to submit manuscripts for publication based on unpublished theses available in open access in institutional repositories. This information must be stated in the letter to the editor. Once the article is accepted and published, the repository must be updated with the complete reference of the final publication, including information on how to cite the document and the assigned DOI, respecting and indicating the terms of the Creative Commons license under which it was published.

3.7 Supporting data for research
National authors must take into account that in accordance with Law No. 26,899 “Creation of Open Access Institutional Digital Repositories, Own or Shared”, in the event that their research results published in the article have been funded or co-funded with public funds authors must publish their work and primary data in institutional repositories, their own or shared.
The citation of the deposited data set must appear in the references section of the resulting publication. Citing the data set allows authorship to be recognized and facilitates its location, validation and reuse, facilitates the metrics and impact of the data and favors the transparency of scientific research. Each data set and subset must be cited independently with its own DOI or similar identifier.

3.8 Policies on advertising
The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent is the official scientific publication of the Argentine Dental Association, a non-profit professional entity. To partially cover editorial costs, commercial advertising related to dentistry is accepted. The advertisements are grouped on the initial pages of each issue without interfering with the reading of the scientific articles, and the website can include up to three banners with brand logos of sponsoring companies.
The advertising schedule is in no way related to editorial decision-making.

4. Ethical considerations

Ethical standards in the publication
The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent is committed to complying with ethical standards at all stages of the publication process and adheres to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing proposed jointly by the Publications Ethics (Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)), the Directory of Open Access Journals (Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)), ), the Association of Open Access Scholarly Publishers (Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA)) and the World Association of Medical Editors (World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)).
If a lack of ethics is identified in the publication related to an article, the COPE guidelines will be followed.
Possible errors detected in the published articles will be addressed by the editorial team, which will be willing to issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies as necessary.
The editors do not pursue any commercial interest, nor do they endorse or credit the commercial products or diagnostic or treatment procedures mentioned in the articles. The Editorial Committee of the Journal adopts the international ethical guidelines for research related to the health of human beings established by Consejo de  Organizaciones Internacionales de las Ciencias Médicas (CIOMS) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO)

Authorship and acknowledgements

Authors who submit a work must take into account that the writing must have been read and approved by all the signatories and that each of them must agree with its presentation to the journal.

The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent adheres to the ICMJE definition of authorship. Authorship should be based on: 1) significant contributions to the idea and design of the study or to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or critically revising it for substantial intellectual content; 3) final approval of the version to be published. Authors of original research articles must declare the roles of authorship and participation and must complete the declaración de sus roles de participación according to ICMJE.

Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should be included in the Acknowledgments section. Examples of this are: people who have collaborated only with technical help, who have provided writing assistance, who have helped with experimental design, with statistical data processing or in any other way. All academic collaboration roles are described in the CRediT taxonomy (hdlab.space/taxonomia).

Ethical approval and informed consent/assent

Research studies. Studies conducted on human subjects, animals, or human specimens must be certified by an institutional research ethics committee. In the Materials and Methods section, the authors must mention the ethics committee that approved the research protocol and, in addition, attach the corresponding certificate.

When research involving human beings is described, it must be indicated that the procedures followed respected the ethical standards of the Committee on Responsible Human Experimentation and those of the Declaration of Helsinki  (https://www.wma.net/es/que-hacemos/etica- medical/declaration-of-helsinki) and it should be clarified that the authors obtained informed consent/assent, as appropriate, from the study participants. Studies that involve freely available information in the public domain (e.g., published biographies, newspaper accounts) or the analysis of data sets -open source or from other researchers- do not require approval by an institutional ethics committee  -that are anonymous and in which consent has been obtained at the time of collection of the original data.

Where experimental animals are used, it should be clearly stated that steps and care were taken to minimize pain and discomfort. The experiments must be carried out according to guidelines for the care and use of experimental animals, stating which of them was considered.

Case reports and case series. When the case report or case series describes the clinical findings during the normal course of treatment or the course of events is observed documenting a new aspect, it must be indicated that the patient or legal guardian signed the consent/assent, as in any clinical protocol, without requiring the approval of a research ethics committee. If the work includes the results of data analysis, a specific hypothesis, or the treatment or collection of data, beyond what is part of routine clinical management, it qualifies as research and must have approval from an ethics committee of investigation.

The editorial board reserves the right to reject the manuscript when there are doubts about whether appropriate procedures have been used.

Recommended methodological standards. Clinical trials must follow the CONSORT statements (www.consort-statement.org) and, when applicable, must be approved by the National Administration of Medicines, Foods and Medical Technology (ANMAT), as established in the provisions of this organism.

Observational studies should follow the recommendations of the STROBE guidelines (strobe-statement.org). Systematic reviews must follow the PRISMA protocol  (www.prisma-statement.org) or the Cochrane protocol (www.cochrane.org). Reports and case series should be guided by CARE guidelines (www.care-statement.org/writing-a-case-report).

Conflict of interest statement. All authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could be construed as influencing the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

Source of funding. The Rev Asoc Odontol Argent requires that all sources of institutional, private and corporate financial support be acknowledged in the writing.

Patient anonymity. The anonymity of the patient must be preserved. Photographs must be cropped sufficiently to prevent the subjects from being recognized (it is not enough, for example, to use black bars over the individual's eyes). When it is essential for scientific purposes to make descriptions or include photographs of the patient's face or parts of his body that may allow identification, the authors must have the informed consent of the individual, attach it to the submission and make it explicit in the body of the work.

5. Submission of manuscripts

Manuscripts must be sent by email to: raoa.buzon@aoa.org.ar. For inquiries, contact the executive editor, Mrs. Violeta Kurlat , by email at violeta.kurlat@aoa.org.ar or by telephone at the landline number (+54-11) 4961-6141 (ext. 212), or to the mobile number (+54-911) 2603-2511 (WhatsApp).

Only authors of research papers must also include the following statement "All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and are able to respond to all aspects of it", and must complete and attach the annex (in pdf) (in Word) declaring their participation roles according to the ICJME.

Prior to sending the writing, the authors must verify compliance with the main requirements by consulting the Submission Checklist available in the “Submit a manuscript ” tab.

With the result of the evaluation, the authors will be notified, as appropriate, of their: a) acceptance; b) need for revision (the corrected version must be sent within thirty days); c) return without publication.

Once the manuscript is accepted, formal modifications may be requested, in accordance with the criteria of the editorial body.

After its definitive acceptance, the article will be published in a timely manner according to the theme of the edition of each issue of the journal and the date of presentation. The choice of the respective index is the responsibility of the editorial board of the journal.

Errors introduced into the text by the authors themselves will not be considered.

After final acceptance, the article will be published in continuous flow. The choice of the respective index of the issue is the responsibility of the editorial team of the Journal.

• Publication costs

The processing of manuscripts and their publication has no cost for the authors.

6. Structure and format of the manuscript

Items received that do not strictly conform to these instructions will be returned for correction before being reviewed.

The first page must contain the title of the article (less than 120 characters, spaces included) and then the following information for each author: full name (first name/s - avoid initials), last name/s, that is: first name/s, last name/s), email, your ORCID identifier with full URL (orcid.org), full name of workplace, institution, city, country. Additionally, complete postal address, a cell phone number, and email address of the author to whom correspondence should be addressed.

The second page must contain a summary of the study in Spanish and its translation into English (abstract). The abstract should not contain bibliographical citations or, if possible, abbreviations; On the other hand, the symbols corresponding to the units of measurement can be used. It should not refer to tables or figures. In addition, a maximum of five “Keywords” in Spanish and English must be included. It is suggested that these words or short phrases be included in the MEDLINE MeSH (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh) and LILACS DeCS (decs.bvs.br/E/homepagee.htm) lists of standardized terms.

Starting on the third page, the work must contain the text of the article and meet the requirements according to its typology, as indicated in the fifth point of these rules.

General considerations

Tables. The following presentation instructions must be taken into account:
a. Submit the tables as independent files, with editable cells in Word or Excel, and also include them at the end of the Word document. b. Order the tables with Arabic numbers and indicate in the text, in parentheses, their precise location; for example: “(table 1)”.  c. At the top of the table, assign a brief title (Table 1. Title). At the bottom, include the abbreviations used, in alphabetical order. In addition, the tables must contain statistical measures of central tendency and dispersion (variability) in accordance with the type of data presented.

The tables must contain all the necessary information and be understandable independently of the text.

Figures. All types of images are considered under this name, whether photographs, graphs or diagrams. The figures must strictly illustrate the content of the work; those that are considered secondary should be avoided. The following instructions must be taken into account:
a. Send the figures as independent files, in “jpg” or “tif” format, high definition (at least 1200 pixels wide), correctly framed, and also include them at the end of the Word document.
b. Order the figures with Arabic numerals and indicate in the text, in parentheses, their precise location; for example: “(fig. 1)” or “(figs. 2 and 3)”. c. Each figure must have a legend (Figure 1. Legend). d. In the case of micrographs, they must contain internal scale indicators. e. All figures, whether diagrams or graphs, must be delivered in editable files. If the figures or diagrams are not your own, they must be freely accessible, or must have proper authorization for publication and in both cases the source must be cited.

Finally, it must be considered that the figures cannot include data that allow the identity of the patient to be recognized, unless it is essential for scientific purposes and the patient's consent is obtained, which must be provided along with a written document.

Origin of materials. Regarding the origin of the materials in the summary/abstract, only if it is necessary to compare products, indicate the commercial name. In the body of the work, indicate the trade name and company only if it is relevant and respecting the following criteria: in the Introduction only the company will be clarified (without city and country) and only in the first mention; in the Materials and methods, Clinical case, Report and Development sections, all data (company, city and country) will be clarified in the first mention (if the material is mentioned again, nothing will be clarified in parentheses), and if two materials share origin, only in the first of them is the complete detail; finally, in the other sections of the work the origin of the materials will not be clarified.

Units of measurement. The International System of Units (SI) will be used, using the comma as a decimal separator.

Abbreviations, acronyms and acronyms. They should be avoided, if possible, in both the title and the abstract. Furthermore, the first time they are used they must be preceded by the full name (clarifying the abbreviation in parentheses), and from the second mention the abbreviated form must be used. As for symbols, as long as they are units included in the SI, they can be used without restrictions.

References. Authors are requested to provide direct references from the original research source whenever possible, avoid citing articles from predatory journals or pseudo-journals , and it is recommended that bibliographic citations correspond mostly to publications from the last ten years. They must be ordered with Arabic numerals, in a correlative manner, according to their appearance in the text, in which they will be referred to by means of superscripts next to the word (or the punctuation mark) that precedes them or next to the last name of the author of the study cited if this is referred to in the text. Citations must follow the ICMJE uniformity requirements for writings (https://metodo.uab.cat/docs/Requisitos_de_Uniformidad.pdf ).

In the case of books, they must observe the following order: Last name followed by the initial of the first name (without a comma after the last name or a period after the initial) of the author or authors, separated from each other by commas. Title of the book (in italics), edition number, city of publication, publisher, year, range of pages of the text that needs to be indicated. (Example: Braun J, Smith T. Dentistry, 3rd ed., Baltimore, Williams & Wilkins, 1987, pp. 219-22. // Example of a book chapter: Meltzer PS, Kallioniemi A, Trent JM. “Radiographic examination”, in: Vogelstein B, Kinzler KW (eds.). Diagnosis of pulpal and periapical disease, 2nd ed., New York, McGrawHill, 2002, pp. 93-113).

References to journal articles must respect the following order: Last name followed by the initial of the first name (without a comma after the last name or period after the initial) of the author or authors (the first six are mentioned; then - if applicable - you must say “et al.”), separated from each other by commas. Work title. Abbreviated title of the journal (in italics) followed by the year of publication; volume: range of pages consulted. (Example: Braun J, Twer P, Jali T, Nebot JL, Janet F, Herrera S, et al. Restoration of fractured teeth. Rev Asoc Odontol Argent 1998;70:120 34). Regarding the titles of the journals, these should be abbreviated according to the list of journals indexed for MEDLINE, published by the NLM on its website: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/journals

In the case of articles in the electronic version, the DOI or URL must be included.

Articles with DOI: The DOI must appear in its full version with https://doi.org/. Example: Caviedes-Bucheli J, Moreno GC, López MP, Bermeo-Noguera AM, Pacheco-Rodríguez G, Cuellar A, et al. Calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor expression in alternatively activated monocytes/macrophages during irreversible pulpitis. J Endod 2008;34:945 -9. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.joen.2008.05.011

Articles with URL: The date of citation must be added in square brackets, after the year of publication. Example: Kaul S, Diamond GA. Pretty good: An introduction to the analysis and interpretation of noninferiority trials. Ann Intern Med 2006 [cited January 4, 2007];145:62-9. Available at: www.annals.org/cgi/reprint/145/1/62.pdf .
When instead of the page interval an article number appears, it must be cited: Example: Nisa L, Von Büren T, Tiab A, Giger R. Giant plexiform schwannoma of the tongue. Case Rep Otolaryngol 2011;2011:762524. https://doi.org/10.1155/2011/762524 .
When the article does not have a page interval or article number, the number of screens must be indicated—in square brackets. Example: Abood S. Quality improvement initiative in nursing homes: the ANA acts in an advisory role. Am J Nurs 2002 [cited 12 August 2002]; 102:[approx. 3 p.]. Available at: www.nursingworld.org/AJN/2002/june/Wawatch.htm .

Regarding journal articles published electronically before printing (epub ahead of print), this circumstance must be clarified and the day and month of electronic publication must be indicated. (Example: Schinini G, Sales D, Gómez MV, Romanelli HJ, Chambrone L. Healing of donor sites of connective tissue grafts harvested by the single incision technique. A randomized clinical trial evaluating the use of collagen hemostatic sponge with or without sutures. J Periodontol 2020; November 21. https://doi.org/10.1002/JPER.20-0645. Published electronically ahead of print).

When an article initially published electronically before printing is published also in printed format, the citation must clarify the date on which it had been published electronically (Example: Schinini G, Sales D, Gómez MV, Romanelli HJ, Chambrone L. Healing of donor sites of connective tissue grafts harvested by the single incision technique: A randomized clinical trial evaluating the use of collagen hemostatic sponge with or without sutures. J Periodontol 2021;92:629-36. https://doi.org/10.1002/JPER.20-0645. Epub 21 Nov 2020.

In the case of theses, the order is as follows: Last name followed by the initial of the author's name. Title of the thesis. doctoral thesis. Country of publication: university or institution; year of publication. (Example: Abreu R. Applicability of recycled aggregates for concrete manufacturing. Doctoral thesis. Venezuela: Universidad Central de Venezuela; 2011).

Internet pages are cited , the following must be indicated: Author(s) (subject/or institution)—if known; If not, omit the data. Qualification. Year of publication—if known—[cited the day of the month of the year]. Available at: Website URL. (Example: International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Recommendations on biochemical and organic nomenclature, symbols and terminology. 2006 [cited 22 February 2007]. Available at: www.chem.qmul.ac.uk/iubmb).

A set of supporting data is cited, the following must be indicated: Author(s): surname and first initial. Title of the data set and then in square brackets [data set]; then indicate the release date of the version. Name of the repository where they are hosted. DOI (Digital Object Identifier) as a hyperlink. (Example: Reyes-Mendy F, Valenzuela M, Chaura C.
