Prof. Dr. Margarita Muruzábal Annual Award for the best scientific research work

In 2012, on the one hundredth anniversary of the creation of the Library of the Argentine Dental Association, the "Annual Prof.ª Dr.ª Margarita Muruzábal Award" was instituted, honoring the memory of the woman who was its relevant director during her lifetime and managed to turn it, through her ability and dedication, into one of the most important of its kind, within the Latin American field. The objective of this recognition is to promote the spirit of research that contributes to a significant advance in the field of dentistry.

The Prize will be awarded to the best scientific research work published in the Journal of the Argentine Dental Association. The award will be presented at a public ceremony during the biennial meeting of the Argentine Dental Association.

The evaluation will be carried out by a jury that will be constituted for this purpose and will be governed by the following rules:

• The jury will consider research papers published in issues of the journals that have appeared during the previous two years. One jury will be appointed for each year.
• The jury will be composed of three members. It will be presided by the general editor of the journal or by the person he/she designates -with a casting vote in case of a tie- and by two members who will be drawn by lot from a list of ten researchers of recognized trajectory.
• The list will be proposed by the general editor of the journal according to the subject matter of the papers that aspire to the award, and approved by the Board of Directors of the Argentine Dental Association.
• The members of the jury may not be signatories of any of the papers considered nor be related to any of the authors.
• The decision of the jury shall be taken by simple majority, thirty days before the date of the awarding of the prize, shall be final and may include the possibility of the prize being declared void.
• The award will consist of a diploma of honor for the author/s. 

Any situation not contemplated in these regulations will be resolved by the Board of Directors of the Argentine Dental Association.

The next award ceremony will be held during the 42 AOA International Congress. The best scientific research paper published in 2022, 2023 and 2024 respectively will be awarded.
